T-001 The goal of the Tyrant Program was to create a “super-soldier” that
retained some resemblance of intelligence. Only one in ten million people had the correct genetic code that would cause them
to become Tyrants upon infection of the T-virus. The majority of research was carried out by Dr William Birkin, Dr James Marcus
and Capt Albert Wesker over a period of ten years. The T-001 was the very first prototype. It features the trademark claw
and enlarged heart, but unfortunately it still retained little of its intelligence and could not be controlled, making it
an ineffective weapon. It escaped from the Raccoon City labs and was killed by a STARS member. Though difficult to kill it
did not display the resistance to small arms fire shown by future Tyrants.
T-002 The second prototype. This specimen was created at the Arkley labs with most of
the research carried out by Albert Wesker. The T-002 was released during the Mansion Incident> Its claws are more developed
but its heart is still exposed giving it a weakness. This specimen was also killed by STARS members.
T-103 The mass-production model of the Tyrant. The high incompatibility ratio was solved
by injecting subjects with beta hetero-nonserotonin. This substance is an adrenal based neurotransmitter extracted from the
locus ceruleus. A vast supply was found in the form of transients, homeless people and various others from third world countries
that no one would miss if abducted. They must be kept unanaesthetised in order to ensure maximum amounts of the substance
are extracted. Production was carried out on Sheena Island, until it blew up.

T-078 The T-078 was another attempt to improve on the T-103. The specimen was transported
to Rockfort Island to provide extra security for the base there. It features huge club like hands, which are very adept at
breaking down obstacles. It was released during a viral outbreak. The fact that it continued to track its human target implies
it has the same scent program as the T-103. Mutation 1 An aggressive mutation caused claws to sprout from its
hands and increase its muscle mass. It moves much faster and is resistant even to explosives. This specimen was killed when
it was hurled out of an airborne transport plane.
Mutation 1 After being shot Birkin injected himself with the G-virus. The effects were instantaneous
and caused his whole body to mutate, including a Tyrant-like claw on his left arm. He promptly slaughtered the USFU team sent
to kill him, leaking the T-virus in Raccoon City’s sewers in the process.
Mutation 2 After suffering substantial injuries a large aggressive
mutation was induced. A new cranium was formed encased in dense bone matter. Muscle mass and claw size also increased. Two new forearms protruded from his stomach
Mutation 3 The forearms have fully developed and Birkin’s entire body is encased in
armour similar to that of advanced Lickers. The new cranium is also more fully developed. His long reach makes him a formidable
opponent.
Mutation 4 The cascade mutation effect causes Birkin’s body
to fall lower down the evolutionary ladder, reverting to a sextupedal form. The powerful arms now serve as leg making Birkin
capable of leaping twenty foot into the air. The claws have suffered a huge growth spurt forming a dense cluster round the mouth; perfect for impaling its enemy. There is no longer any humanoid resemblance left.
Mutation 5 After suffering multiple wounds and going though several rapid aggressive mutations
Birkin’s DNA begins to break down under the stress and his body becomes a huge amorphous blob. Its sheer mass is its
greatest weapon making it very difficult for any firearms to have any effect on it. Birkin was killed in when one of Umbrella’s
trains self-destructed. Teams from HCF recovered the body.
Nemesis Nemesis is one of the deadliest BOWs ever created. Part of the Tyrant Project,
the NE-T virus was used in its conception at the main Umbrella Facility in Paris. The first Nemesis was created when the NE-Alpha
was inserted into the spine of a T-103. This was the Nemesis T-type. The parasite stimulates the T-virus cells and catalyses
the formation of new brain cells. This allows the parasite to gain control of the host’s brain. In effect a second brain
is formed, with all lower brain operations including control of the major organs and motor functions. Over time the NE-Alpha
parasite will take over all bodily functions. Four compatible subjects were found, but during the mutation process one of
the Nemeses maintained the ability of independent thought. Whether it was the parasite that was responsible or the host was
never found out as the subject tried to escape and was destroyed immediately. The remaining Nemeses were given inhibitors
that would limit the NE-Alpha’s growth when it reached maturity. This new modified Nemesis was classified the Nemesis
T-02.
Mutation 1 Nemesis was designed to secrete a substance that would
increase its cell metabolism in order to counter any heavy attacks and recover from wounds. The downside would be more increasingly
unstable mutations. After falling unconscious in a fire, Nemesis’s trench coat was burned off and its rocket launcher
destroyed. The extreme pressure put on the body caused a spontaneous mutation effect seen with G-Types and Crimson Heads.
Nemesis’s tentacles extended in length and the loss of the trench coat allowed greater mobility. Its attack patterns
include wrapping its tentacles around its victim and throwing them against walls.
Nemesis After being decapitated, losing an arm and finally being boiled in large vat of
acid in the Umbrella Waste Disposal Facility, which was designed to break down industrial waste, the remnants of Nemesis crawled
to the nearby body of a T-103 and ingested some of the remains. The apparent infusion caused an extremely violent mutation.
Its reaction was similar to that of a G-Type with new appendages being spontaneously generated. It also suffers from the same
‘devolution’ effect with each mutation; Nemesis reverted to a quadruped form and would have no doubt broken down
into an amorphous blob had the mutations continued. An interesting chemical reaction also took place. Its unstable metabolic
rate will cause a conflict between the T-virus and Nemesis-T virus cells. Nemesis can use this to its advantage by projecting
a highly acidic compound of T and NE-T virus cells, capable of infecting anyone who comes into contact with this substance.
Its acid and tentacle attacks are less effective than its previous attack patterns, but still lethal nonetheless. It is interesting
to note that Nemesis continued to pursue its mission goal of eliminating all STARS members even when near death, and when
mutations should have substantially altered its brain.
Mutation 1 The T-Veronica virus had now been fully incorporated
into her body giving her the ability to mutate at will. She generated an insect-like exoskeleton around herself. Her blood
has mutated into a substance that combusts on contact with air, which will injure anyone in the vicinity if they inflict damage
on her body. This means that she has overcome the weakness of pyrosensitivity that all other BOWs suffer from. She can also
control the T-virus infected ant hive using pheromones.
Mutation 2 After being attacked Alexia absorbed a tentacle into herself and mutated into something
reminiscent of a queen ant. Her huge mass makes it difficult to inflict damage. She also produces small insect-like creatures
that will attack enemies in the area and protect her.
Mutation 3 After being injured Alexia lost control over the hive.
The main body was destroyed by the ants, but her upper body detached itself and mutated into a dragonfly-like creature. Very
fast moving and spewing flaming ichor she was killed by a STARS member with a prototype anti-BOW weapon. Her remains were
incinerated in the Antarctica base self-destruct. Mutation 1 Marcus’s Progenitor virus infected leeches were
also dumped in the treatment plant. The Progenitor virus normally causes a very violent cellular reaction, but if the virus
is slowly metabolised over a long period of time it allows the human host to maintain control, similar to the T-veronica virus.
Truth be told you do not get a slower metabolism than that of a dead person’s. The queen leech crawled down Marcus’s
oesophagus and attached itself in an almost symbiotic fashion. There it incubated for ten years whilst Marcus’s cells
were sustained and eventually metamorphosised and on July 23rd 1998 Marcus awakened. His body had reverted to the physical
age of his early twenties. The other Progenitor infected leeches that had spent the last ten years hibernating and reproducing
were controlled by him using a sonarific technique. Marcus immediately formulated a plan to exact revenge on Umbrella. He
used his leeches to cause a T-virus spill at the Arkley labs and the Umbrella Training Facility, where a team of Umbrella
engineers were investigating the prospect of reopening it. A second team of researchers being transported there by train were
also attacked. Mutation 2 The leech queen finally completed its incubation process and disposed of its host.
It mutated what was left of Marcus’s DNA and changed into its adult form. It attacks suing its tentacles and an acid
spit. This BOW demonstrates just how many features and traits seen in future BOWs originally came from the Progenitor virus.
Similarities in T-virus BOWs and even the NE-T virus can be seen. Mutation 3 The leech queen continued growing, aggravated by an
aggressive mutation caused in response to damage done to it by personnel in the area. It uses its acid spit to wound targets
before crushing them with its massive girth. Unfortunately this BOW is extremely photosensitive and therefore not practical
as a weapon. It was destroyed in UTF’s self-destruct. |
